ZoomCanvas Licence Agreement

Version 1.0 · Last updated 8 August 2026 · Applies to ZoomCanvas 1.x

This agreement is between you and Intellifields (“we”, “us”), and it governs your use of the ZoomCanvas desktop application (“the Software”). It applies whether you use the free version or a paid licence. Installing or using the Software means you accept it.

The short version. The Software is yours to use, on two computers, for as long as you like, for personal or commercial work. Your documents and everything you export are entirely your own — we claim nothing over them and never see them. Don’t resell the Software or share your licence key, and we won’t take anything away from you.

1. The licence you are granted

When you buy a licence we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on up to two computers that you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes.

Perpetual means what it says: a paid licence for ZoomCanvas 1.x does not expire, and you may keep using the version you bought for as long as you wish. If you later stop paying for anything — or we stop selling the Software altogether — the copy you have keeps working.

You may move your licence between computers as often as you need. The Software includes a way to release a seat from a computer you no longer have access to.

2. The free version

The Software may be used without payment. The free version is the complete application: no feature is withheld, there is no time limit, and there is no restriction on how many presentations you create or export, including for commercial work.

The only difference is that presentations and exported files carry a small “Made with ZoomCanvas” mark. Buying a licence removes it. You may not remove or obscure that mark by any other means, including modifying the Software, editing exported files to strip it, or cropping it out of exported video.

3. Your documents are yours

We claim no ownership of, and no licence to, anything you make with the Software. Your presentations, the media you import, and every file you export belong entirely to you, including for commercial use and resale.

The Software does not upload your documents anywhere. There is no account, no synchronisation and no cloud storage. A .prezip file on your disk is the whole document, and it stays on your disk.

4. What you may not do

You may not:

  • sell, rent, sub-licence, lend or redistribute the Software itself;
  • share your licence key, or publish it;
  • use one licence on more computers than it covers, or attempt to bypass activation;
  • remove, disable or circumvent the mark applied by the free version;
  • remove or alter any copyright or licensing notices in the Software.

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction — for example, where such acts are necessary to achieve interoperability and the conditions of the relevant law are met.

Presentations you export are your files, not the Software: nothing in this section restricts what you do with them.

5. Activation, and what leaves your computer

Activating a paid licence requires an internet connection once per computer. When you activate, the Software sends:

  • your licence key;
  • an anonymous identifier for the computer — a one-way cryptographic hash, from which the original machine identifier cannot be recovered;
  • the computer’s name, so that you can tell your machines apart when managing seats.

That is everything. The Software does not send your documents, your files, your usage, or any other personal information, and it contains no analytics or tracking.

After activation the Software works entirely offline. It re-checks the licence quietly in the background from time to time, and checks once a day at most whether a newer version exists. If either check fails — because you are offline, or for any other reason — nothing changes and nothing stops working.

See our Privacy Policy for more.

6. Updates, and what happens at 2.0

A paid licence includes every 1.x update, at no further cost — bug fixes, improvements and new features alike, for as long as the 1.x line continues.

A future major version (2.0) would be a separate product and a separate purchase. We will never move a feature out of the version you bought in order to sell it back to you.

The Software does not install updates by itself. It tells you when one exists and leaves the decision to you.

7. If the activation service ever stops

We are a small operation, and you are entitled to ask what happens to a perpetual licence if we stop running the activation service.

If we ever discontinue the activation service, we will publish a version of ZoomCanvas that does not require it, and make it freely available from intellifields.com, so that copies already paid for keep working. Computers you have already activated are unaffected in any case — they do not need the service to keep running.

8. Payment

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. Your billing relationship for the purchase is with Paddle, and Paddle handles VAT, sales tax and payment processing. Paddle’s own buyer terms apply to the transaction alongside this agreement.

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

9. No warranty

The Software is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Back up your work. The Software writes your documents to your own disk, and like any software it may contain defects. Keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

If you are a consumer, this section does not affect your statutory rights, which cannot be excluded by agreement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Software or this agreement is limited to the amount you actually paid for the licence in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in this agreement limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Ending this agreement

You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software.

We may end your paid licence if you materially breach section 4 — for example by publishing your licence key or redistributing the Software — and do not put it right within 30 days of us asking you to. If we do, you may continue to use the free version, and your documents remain yours and remain usable.

A refunded or charged-back purchase ends the paid licence for that purchase.

12. Changes to these terms

We may publish revised terms for future versions or future purchases. The terms you accepted when you bought your licence continue to apply to that licence — we will not change the deal you agreed to after the fact.

13. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings there.
