Project Management Professional

Well, a good way to start from is the Project Management Institute (www.pmi.com), whether you are a guru project manager or a startup, this place provides its stakeholders with a common understanding of what project management is and what it is not. Many of us have worked on project(s) and were exposed to different corporate environments with different cultures, norms and terms which unfortunately leads to many common misunderstandings between team members. For example, if you asked your colleagues or team members what is their definition of a Project Management Office (PMO) you will be amazed with the difference in understanding of each member about this common term. That’s why, we advise you to join the PMI common understanding club and to even earn a PMP certificate that will add a lot to your knowledge gaps.

So, how to apply? First browse to www.pmi.com and read the requirements carefully to assess your eligibility to apply for a PMP (please don't climb the wrong mountain). If your qualifications equal or exceed the minimum requirements for the application, proceed with the next step which is earning a minimum 35 hours project management education (equivalent to 35 Project Development Units or "PDU"). Many people are misled thinking that this has to be done physically in an educational center and you will find a lot of centers spread over the country promoting this idea. The truth is, there is no more time to drive, park, walk up stairs and stay for almost 8 hours each week to take a crashing course to earn such PDUs. Hence, the best way is to receive the PDUs is to earn them online. In that regards, there are a lot of options that can grant you the 35 hours with high quality material that will add to your knowledge and summarize important subjects that are subtle to many of us.
